Giant Panda in Qinling Mountains

Approaching the Source of Three Rivers

Yushu exercises jurisdiction over the Hoh Xil, a no-man area in the northwest, and has vast expanse of marshland, wetland and mountainous forests in the southeast. Complicated landforms create biological diversity, and are home to Tibetan antelopes, wild yaks and wild Tibetan donkeys, known as the three treasures of the plateau. This part of the world is also where the source of many large rivers lies. The source of the three rivers is also known as the ¡°water tower of China¡±.
